A sandwich just might be the perfect food to eat for lunch. You get to eat a little bit of everything, depending on what you put in the sandwich — it’s completely up to you!
And one dad from Massachusetts found a way to take sandwiches and turning them into artistic masterpieces.
And they’re already culinary masterpieces in my eyes!
Meet David Laferriere. He introduces himself on his website with the following: “Hello I’m David Laferriere, a designer, illustrator with geek-like tendencies. I believe in designing for the reader and every print job should be built so it can be repurposed for different mediums. I also draw on my kids’ sandwich bags.”
To call them “drawings” is a bit of an understatement — these are amazing!
David has been doing this since May of 2007, creating art on his kids’ sandwich bags with nothing more than a Sharpie marker.
In the video below, you’ll see some of the works of art David has done, including dogs, aliens, mazes, the American Flag, just to name a few.
“Each drawing is done just after I make the sandwich. I take a picture and post to flickr. My kids don’t see the drawing until it is lunchtime,” he said on his Flickr page.
“The challenges are coming up with an idea and then drawing quickly and directly on the bag, every line counts.”
Check out his awesome work in the video below, and please SHARE it on Facebook!
