Losing weight isn’t easy. Some people struggle for years (or even their entire lives!) to achieve their ideal, healthiest body. But a group of friends found a very special way to work together to achieve their goals — and managed to transform themselves in the process.
The 4 women originally met in a Zumba class at The Edge Fitness Club in Meriden, Connecticut 3 years ago. Bonded by their shared desire to shed their extra weight, the newfound friends decided to work together on their weight loss journey.
Inspiring one another with “motivational quotes, food, workouts, [and] alarm clocks to wake people up in the morning,” the friends ended up losing a combined 422 pounds between the 4 of them.
Brook Steneck has lost 120 pounds so far. Amy-Jo Reid is down 104 pounds. Quasheena Young shed an incredible 108 pounds.
Arleen Crespo, who lost 90 pounds, was the one who suggested the 4 women celebrate their weight loss achievement by competing in a Tough Mudder race — a 10 to 12-mile obstacle course known for how intense and physical it is.
“You’re going to cry,” Arleen told Inside Edition of the grueling weight loss journey. “But if you have 3 friends who are there to hold you and support you, you’re blessed.”
Don’t these ladies look incredible?
