Man Swims In Shark-Infested Waters, Screams When He Sees Fin, But Realizes It’s Just A Dolphin

Ballina, Australia is known as the “shark-attack capital” of the country, so swimming in the waters of that town is kind of a risk.

According to 42-year-old Craig Bateman, lifeguards use drones to monitor the waters and alert swimmers and surfers just in case they get to close to areas where a shark might be. Craig is no stranger to swimming the Ballina waters but has never found himself close to a shark. But he thought that streak of luck ended when a large dorsal fin protruded out of the water next to him!

In the video below, Craig and a friend were surfing in Ballina when he suffered the shock of a lifetime.

With his friend more than a few feet away, Craig lied on his surfboard when a wave came and sent him shooting forward.

He filmed the entire scene on his camera.

And that same camera caught the moment a creature appeared just a few feet away from him.

The creature was nearly close enough for him to touch!

When he saw the animal’s dorsal fin, he let out a loud scream. And I can’t blame him either, considering how many sharks are known to preside in the area.
