When a young child passes away, it’s very hard to process their death and understand why it had to happen. Many parents, grandparents, siblings, and other family members struggle very much, and many don’t know what the best course of action is after such a tragic, untimely death.
When a seven-month-old baby named Mason Jace passed away, his grandmother, Tammy Elmore, wanted to honor her sweet grandson’s short, but precious, life.
Tammy wrote a letter paying tribute to Mason Jace. She placed the message in a bottle and tossed it in the ocean.
While he was alive, Mason Jace loved, as Tammy wrote, “the sea, sea turtles, and exploring.” She wanted his legacy to explore the ocean he didn’t get the chance to.
Tammy let the bottle go off the coast of Anna Maria Island, Florida. She figured she would never see it again once it was gone — but she was wrong.
Just one week later, Deb Rowe was snorkeling in waters off of Georgia, looking for sea shells to collect. At the bottom of the ocean she noticed something — a message in a bottle.
That message was Tammy’s.
Check out the video below to hear the amazing story of how Mason Jace’s bottle made its way back home after Deb found it at the bottom of the ocean. Please SHARE this stunning story on Facebook in honor of Mason Jace, the little explorer.
