The CLAA Conference Basketball Tournament was going on in Carroll County, Missouri, but the actions of a group of cheerleaders stole the show.
The footage in the video below was sent in to WDAF Kansas City by a mom named Brenda Milligan, whose daughter is a cheerleader for Hardin-Central High School.
Brenda’s daughter was also part of the cheerleaders who proved to be a living example of the kindness of the human spirit!
In the video, Brenda noticed that the opposing team, Northwestern, only had a single cheerleader on their side.
But the cheerleader wouldn’t be alone for much longer. “My daughter and her squad took the nerve and went out to cheer with her. They learned her cheers and were able to present them to the crowd in a short amount of time. Many people were there supporting the girls in this great achievement,” Brenda said.
WDAF was able to find and speak to the lone cheerleader from Northwestern. Her name is Tori Adams, and she said that she was alone because many of her squad members were sick. The game was also rescheduled, which conflicted with other members’ prior commitments. Nonetheless, she was thankful the opposing squad joined her.
“They learned some of my cheers and I learned some of their cheers,” Tori said. “It was a big relief.”
