Ellen Calls New Jersey Mayor A Hero After He Runs Into Fire So She Gets Him Suit For ‘Next Time’

Cory Booker is now a United States Senator representing New Jersey, but back in 2012 he was the mayor of Newark. He got invited to The Ellen DeGeneres Show to share a story not about politics, but about heroics.

Cory sat down with Ellen and recalled the story of when he ended up running into a house fire. According to the then-mayor, he was being driven home when his driver noticed a fire nearby. Cory himself couldn’t see it so he jumped out and noticed two detectives rushing into a burning home.

By the time he arrived at the house, he learned that the woman’s daughter was still inside.

Without hesitation, Cory jumped into the chaos. He even fought his own bodyguard away, who tried to stop him from entering!

He then went on to tell Ellen that the fire and smoke and chaos began to overwhelm him while he searched for the girl. As he began to realize the real danger that surrounded him, he finally heard the girl’s voice calling to him.

Heroically, Cory picked the girl up and charged through the flames back outside.

Ellen was so impressed and moved by his story that she wanted to give him a suit for the next time he needed to jump into action.

Check the suit out in the video below and please SHARE it on Facebook!
