A pair of crooks in Phoenix, Arizona, tried to get some Valentine’s Day gifts for free, but because of a well-timed traffic light, they didn’t succeed.
Erika Gonzalez owned the shop and told FOX10 Phoenix that she initially thought the two young men were going to buy the bears.
The two men emerged from an SUV and walked towards the shop. Instead of paying for the bears, they snatched them from Erika’s shop and tried running off with them.
“When I saw it, I felt angered because I think it was two adolescents. Very young people,” Erika said to FOX10. “It does affect me because I’ve worked very hard to get where I’m at, and people think that because I own a business, I have money, but that’s not the case.”
The two young men ran back to their vehicle and struggled to stuff the bears inside. When they succeeded, they found their escape impeded by none other than a simple a red light. Traffic wouldn’t move!
Before long, two of Erika’s employees (referred to as good Samaritans in the video below) rushed over and took their merchandise back. After it all though, Erika held no ill will towards the two would-be thieves. She said, “I send them my blessing and hope God puts love in their hearts for others.”
